Well it’s 5:21 am … not much to tell since nothing has started. I am up early so I can eat breakfast. They said it is good to have some food in your stomach before your treatment starts. Let’s hope they’re right.
I have a ton of magazines to read today. I must have every R/C magazine that is made. Did you know they make a magazine now dedicated to Micro R/C’s? That damn HPI Micro RS4 is looking pretty sweet!
That might make it on to my wish list instead of getting a full size car or boat.
Anyways … I am still excited about today … I’ll be back home in about 12 hours from now. Hopefully I will feel like posting to I can tell you all about it. Enjoy your day!
UPDATE:
Well it’s 5:47pm .. I have been home for almost an hour or so. Today was suppose to be the worst day of all my treatments. If this is all they got to throw at me then I say BRING IT ON. What a piece of cake. No side effects .. No Nausea .. nothing .. of course it could all come on tonight, but right now I feel GREAT! Just a little tired. The treatment lasted 6+ hours, but all my subsequent visits should only be 3 – 4 hours.
Also, there is absolutely no tumor activity in my lungs, abdomen, or pelvic area. It is just the large mass in my chest. The tumor has gotten bigger and it is very close to a major vein that is responsible for draining my upper body of old blood. The doctor was a little concerned, but said that this treatment should shrink the tumor enough to bring me out of danger. I also have fluid around my heart and lungs. This could be the cancer, but the only way to find out would be to stop my treatment and get samples of the fluid. The doctor said he would rather continue treatment and see if the fluid goes away once the tumor starts shrinking.
My next appointment is June 17th and that is just a follow up with the doctor to see how I am holding up with the first Chemo Session. Because the tumor has gotten so large so fast they may try some more agressive/radical treatments on top of my Chemo, but he said we would discuss those after we see what this session has done to the tumor.
So I am anticipating my next Chemo session to be either June 24th or July 1st. I think that about covers everything.

Update: ( 6/08/2003 )
Well .. I have had a couple side effects now. Friday night and most of Saturday my mouth had a wierd metal taste to it. It was kinda gross, but seems to be gone today. Now I am starting to get some jaw pain. They said it would start today and continue for a few days. It really isn’t all that bad just a little annoying.
I had some visitors today. Carrie’s Mom stopped by to drop off some food. My parents stopped by also. My mom made me some homemade chicken soup and got me some movies (Brotherhood of the Wolf, Resident Evil, and The Recruit). Rick & Bob stopped by also to say hello. That really made my day. Thanks guys.
