Biopsy done
Well my biopsy is done. It took a lot longer than the surgeon anticipated. They were thinking 15-20 minutes. The procedure actually took a little over two and half hours.
I was pretty close to be being taken to the O.R. to finish the procedure. Instead of one scar I have two now. They opened me up on my neck at first and after an hour of poking around in there they could not find the lymph node. The damn thing had moved. So the surgeon (Dr. Salloum) went to look at the CT Scans again and came back.
They made the second incision just above my collar bone. They ended up going fairly deep and after about an hour in there they found it and cut the damn thing out. I did not see, but Carrie says it was about the size of a walnut.
I am doing fine. A little sore, but the vicodin is taking care of the pain.
I just want to thank Dr. Salloum and his assistant Sue. They did a great job at making me feel at ease during the procedure.
So now we just have wait and see what the pathology report says. ![]()
