ABVD not working … :(

Well .. where do I start …

I was starting to think the mass I had in my chest had decided to “wake up”. Wed-Tues (10/20-10/25) was pretty rough for me. I don’t remember chemo being that rough, but things started to get better Monday night. Tuesday I started to have aches in my chest, but I just thought I ache everywhere .. It’s just the chemo. On Tuesday night I had really bad night sweats. So much so that I had to change my t-shirt (you could almost wring it out) and towel off before coming back to bed. When I got out of the shower Wed morning I notice a slight bulge near the top of my chest beneath the bone. Actually it looks as though something is pushing the bone out. I had night sweats again on Wed night and Thursday morning the bulge was even more pronounced. Now it is not sticking out by inches, but you can definitely tell something is growing under there.

I have a slight shortness of breath as well. It doesn’t hamper my breathing, but when I take a breath I know it is there.

So maybe I am being paranoid, but my biggest worry is that the ABVD “woke up” the old NHL.

So I contacted my ONC and told him all this and spent most of Friday at Strong getting a CT Scan again.

Well it turns out I am not responding well to the ABVD. There is a considerable amount of growth in my neck compared to 1 month ago. frown

So it looks as though I will be admited in 7-10 days to recieve a different kind of chemo: ICE

I am sure this is going to suck, but anything that helps kick the crap out of this has got to be good. smile

And it turns out that the bulge in my chest is nothing. The ONC said there is no mass under there causing it. He said it must just be how your chest always is. Now how wierd is that … I think I see something and call and there is something entirely different going on .. Carrie thinks I have some “Spidey Sense” working overtime or something …

Wish me luck .. smile
