ICE .. ICE .. Baby .. Day 1
So Friday (11/05) was a VERY long day. We arrived early at Strong (7am) so I could get a little more blood work done before my central line was put in.
That put us down in the nurses’s station of radiology by 8am. My appt was at 8:15am. The nurses down there (Mary) were awesome as always and the physician (Dr. Walderman) was great. She really put my mind at ease. She played one of my favorite Tom Petty albums during the operation which helped alot too. I think there was even singing going on.
Getting up to my room proved to be the difficult part of the day. My procedure was only an hour. So we waited from 11:40 am until about 2pm and still nothing. I also had not eaten in close to 17 hours. Carrie finally told them to discharge me and we’ll walk up to our floor when we were finished.
I was getting very cranky and just wanted some time to relax and eat before getting hit with the first part of the chemo (E).
One of Carrie’s friends from school (Georgie & Tom) stopped in later in the day. It was nice to hear about how school was going and actually meet some new people. Thanks for the visit (and the cookies!)
It was not too bad. I was finally hooked in around 7pm and it lasted one hour. I slept through most it. They are being pretty liberal with the Ativan. So I am pretty mellow .. ![]()
