I GRAFTED TODAY!

- WBC: 1.0
- HCT: 25
- PLTS: 14
- ANC: 310 < -- when this hits 500 I can go home!
I just cannot express how unbelievably happy I am right now. I was so afraid of this procedure when I arrived here on Christmas Eve.
I have not done my stairs in a couple of days because I pulled a muscle in my right thigh. My ONC told me to stay off the leg and rest it for a couple of days.
Well, when I saw my ONC today and he gave me the good news he said I was the only person he knows here at Strong that pulled a muscle during a Stem Cell Transplant. 
They also said I was the most active person they have ever had up here. It made me feel good to hear that. I did not want to come up here and let this procedure control me. I wanted control and for most of the time up here I had it.
So just as this part of my treatment ends the waiting game starts. We have to wait to get my scans done and then wait for the results.
There is a possibility that I will need radiation treatment. That would not start until February. I am hoping that I will not need it. The thought of nuking myself is not very pleasant.
For now I will take the good news I got today and run with it. We’ll worry about the scans when they get here.
Today was very busy! I had so many visitors!
My parents stopped up again with some Auntie Anne pretzels (YUMMY!).
Corrine (Carrie’s Mom), Darcie (Carrie’s Sister), Mackenzie (niece) and Connor (niece) stopped up also. It was so nice to see everyone and be able to share our good news with them.
I also wanted to thank Pete C. for stopping up. It turns out they would not let him in the room so he called me from the nurse’s station and we talked on the phone. It was kinda funny cause we’re both standing waving at each other through my door. I felt like the boy in the bubble. Thanks Petey for coming up. It meant alot to see you.
Later in the day Jay & Barbara stopped up. They are such good people. I am a NY Jets fan and they got me a NY Jet winter hat. I could not believe it. I’ve always wanted one of those. I can’t wait to wear it around all my friends that are Buffalo Bills fans.
