PSA & First Ride
I haven’t updated in awhile. I have had the major blahs … I don’t feel sick or anything although I did have a couple of chest colds over the last few weeks, but just no ambition to do anything.
That changed yesterday though.
I got home from work and could not believe how nice it was out! I practically ran into the house and Carrie looks and at me and says, “You’re going riding aren’t you?” .. You better believe it! I was so excited to get on that bike. Now I did not ride any sort of Tour de Flanders or Paris-Roubaix race, but I was able to ride 5 miles in 20 minutes. I thought that wasn’t too awful considering I have been living on my couch and recliner for the last 6 months.
I am hoping to get a few more rides in this week before the weather turns bad again .. come on this is Rochester .. you know the weather is going to turn bad again. :\
Also, I received a call from the Wilmot Cancer Center a few weeks ago. It seems they have made a PSA (Public Service Announcement) for the Center using bits of my interview I did for the Breakfast Buzz on 98.9 The Buzz. I was pretty shocked and excited. Its nice to know that I can help out the center after everything they have done for me. You can listen to the PSA below.
I believe it will run the whole month of April.
I have had the pleasure of meeting two of my new siblings last month. My brother Mark flew in for a weekend and then a day later my sister Cyndi flew in for a week! Carrie and I had a great time meeting them and getting to know them. I cannot wait to see them again.
I also have a checkup coming up with my Radiation Oncologist on 4/19. It should not be a big deal, but already I can feel myself getting a little amped about it. I don’t know if I will ever be able to shake this anxiety until I hit that 5 year mark. Good news is that today is day +466 since my transplant and I don’t think I have ever felt better in my life.
