2007 Rochester Autumn Classic Duathlon

By Shannon | October 1, 2007

The 2007 Rochester Autumn Classic Duathlon is an awesome event put on by Boots & Ellen of Yellow Jacket Racing. Each year the event seems to grow which is great for the sport and event.

So this year I was the only Team CFC person to participate in the 2007 Rochester Autumn Classic Duathlon. I almost decided not to do the event this year, but then I remembered this is the event that started it all for me in 2005.

I beat last year’s time by a full 2 minutes! I was so excited. I had my best time ever on the bike for 10 miles - 40:08!
I also switched back to my pedals with cages on them so I did not have to change shoes in transition. As you can see that saved me a minute or more in each transition.

So here are my times over the last 3 events:

Here are some photos from the event:

We had such a great time doing this event. It was so well put together and organized. This will definitely go on our yearly event calendar.

I will have more of an update after I get all the photos in from the ride ….

For those of you curious as to how I did in my first Criterium ….

I raced in the Cat 5 30+ group. I lasted 12 minutes 25 seconds before the official pulled me off the course. Which was 3 laps. I knew going into this that I would probably not last the whole race, but I am glad I entered. It was a great experience and I will be entering again next year. Hopefully next year I will either finish or at least stay out on the course another 5-10 minutes before they pull me off. :)
